Warner Robins, Ga. – As the fall semester begins, Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) enrollment reports revealed that Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC) made history.

In the fall, spring, and summer semesters of the Academic Year (AY) 2024, a record of more than 15,000 students attended CGTC; a first in its history.

CGTC is the only technical college in the 22-member system to achieve more than 15,000 for AY 2024. While this figure is not the largest AY enrollment in TCSG history, it is the largest in ten years, according to TCSG’s historical enrollment data.

“What we have done to reach these tremendous enrollment numbers is prioritize our students and our community,” said Dr. Ivan H. Allen, president of CGTC. “Offering high-demand programs, robust student services, campus life, athletics, and on-campus wellness options, coupled with the hard work and integrity of our instructors and staff, have made CGTC a premier institution for our community.”

In Fall 2023, 10,715 students enrolled at the College. Fall enrollment figures are the baseline for enrollment projections system-wide. Fall 2023 marked a milestone as the College’s first semester with more than 10,000 students and established CGTC as one of the largest colleges or universities in the region and the largest two-year institution in Georgia.

Looking ahead to AY 2025, enrollment projections at the College show that CGTC will enroll more than 10,700 students in the Fall 2024 term. Among the enrollment growth are international nontraditional and Latino students. Student-athletes and students from rural areas have also increased.

Enrollment numbers are officially measured by two different state data collection deadlines within the College’s term. Based on current numbers, the College’s enrollment is projected to increase by 2.5 to 3 percent for fall semester.

CGTC is still enrolling for the fall term, and its Fall Session 2 which begins October 8. To apply visit, www.centralgatech.edu/apply.
