Healthcare systems across the region are modernizing the patient experience. Emory Healthcare is advancing these efforts with upgrades that enhance visits and bring specialized expertise closer to home.

Smarter Care Through Listening

Beginning in December 2025, Emory Healthcare will introduce Abridge ambient listening technology at the Roy H. “Sonny” Watson Health Pavilion in Warner Robins. This generative artificial intelligence (AI) solution for clinical documentation allows clinicians, with patient permission, to use a secure app to record visits. Real-time clinical summaries are generated during the conversation and reviewed by clinicians before being posted in the patient’s MyChart portal.

With less manual note-taking, clinicians can focus more on patients. Clear, actionable summaries define medical terms and outline next steps for greater accuracy and understanding. Expansion to inpatient settings is planned for June 2026.

Connecting Care Through Technology

Emory Healthcare is investing $60 million to implement the Epic Electronic Health Record (EHR) system at its Warner Robins and Perry locations. EHR’s integrated and comprehensive health software will allow for a unified, secure platform that will connect all Emory hospitals and clinics, improving record sharing and care coordination. The rollout at the Pavilion starts in December 2025, with inpatient locations expected to go live in June 2026.

Patients will have access to MyChart, a patient portal, to manage appointments, message providers, and request refills.

Expanding Specialized Care

Beyond technology upgrades, Emory Healthcare is bringing new services and specialists to Middle Georgia with the new Heart, Vascular, and Transplant Clinic opening at the Roy H. “Sonny” Watson Health Pavilion in October 2025. The clinic provides specialized care in electrophysiology, heart failure, chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension (CTPH), structural heart, interventional, cardiothoracic surgery, and thoracic surgery. Patients will have access to kidney and liver transplant pre- and post-care services in the clinic.

With options to specialized care closer to home, patients can reduce travel to and from Atlanta while benefiting from Emory’s specialists.

Investing in Regional Health

These ongoing efforts build a stronger healthcare network in Middle Georgia. Each new tool and service reflects Emory Healthcare’s commitment to innovation, access, and patient-focused care, supporting a healthier future for the region.
